Frequently Asked Questions
1. What types of ceremonies do you perform?
I specialize in multi-cultural, inclusive, and modern Persian ceremonies, offering fusion, spiritual, secular, as well as traditional Iranian weddings. Whether you’re blending Persian and Western customs or creating something entirely your own I can help create a ceremony that aligns with your interests. While I am an ordained officiant, I am not qualified to perform ceremonies prescribed for specific Christian sects or Judaism. Nonetheless, I am open to working alongside ordained officiants from other faiths to ensure that your ceremony is meaningful and inclusive for everyone involved.
2. What is included in your service?
A consultation meeting (up to 1 hr) is included in every wedding package in addition to my attendance at the wedding event. The extent of my involvement and cost vary, depending on the type of ceremony you have in mind. After I learn about your preferences, I will email you with a fee breakdown and the services associated with each fee. Our final agreement will be in writing, with your and my signatures.
3. Can we personalize our ceremony?
Absolutely! I encourage couples to personalize their ceremony to reflect their values, traditions, and personalities. Whether you want to incorporate cultural rituals, share your personal vows, or include family traditions, we can work together to craft a ceremony that feels authentic to you.
4. Do you officiate bilingual ceremonies?
Yes, I am fluent in both Persian (Farsi) and English, and I offer bilingual ceremonies for couples who want to honor both languages and cultures. This is especially helpful for multicultural weddings where not all guests may speak the same language.
5. What is the process for booking your services?
To book my services, please reach out through the contact form on my website or send me an email. We will set up a consultation to discuss your vision for the ceremony and my availability. A deposit will be required to secure your date.
6. How far in advance should we book you?
It’s best to book as soon as possible, especially if you have a popular wedding date. I recommend reaching out at least 6 months before your wedding day, but I’m happy to accommodate shorter timelines when my schedule allows.
7. In which city do you provide wedding officiating services?
Weddings within a 50-mile radius of Chicago, IL, are considered "local" and do not incur additional travel fees. For weddings outside the Chicagoland area, whether within the U.S. or internationally, travel expenses (including transportation and lodging) will be required.
7. Do you travel for destination weddings?
Yes, I love officiating destination weddings! Whether you’re planning a ceremony in a different state or abroad, I can travel to your chosen location. Additional travel fees will apply, depending on the destination.
8. What happens during the pre-wedding consultation call?
The pre-wedding consultation is a chance for us to connect and discuss your vision for the ceremony. During this call, we’ll talk about important details such as the type of ceremony you want (traditional, secular, fusion, etc), any specific rituals you’d like to include, and the overall tone you’re hoping to set for the day. This is also a time for me to get to know you as a couple—your love story, your values, and what makes your relationship special.
We’ll go over the logistics too, including the location, timing, and any unique needs you may have. If you’re planning a multicultural or bilingual ceremony, we’ll explore how to seamlessly integrate elements from both cultures. Additionally, I’ll answer any questions you have about the process and provide insights to help you feel confident and prepared for your big day.
9. How long does the ceremony last?
The length of the ceremony varies based on your preferences, but most ceremonies last between 30 and 40 minutes. If you have special rituals or traditions you want to incorporate, we can adjust the timing accordingly.
10. Can we include religious elements in our ceremony?
Yes, I am happy to incorporate religious or spiritual elements into your ceremony if that’s important to you. We can discuss how to respectfully include any prayers, readings, or rituals that reflect your faith.
11. What happens if we need to reschedule or cancel our wedding?
Life happens, and if you need to reschedule your wedding, I will do my best to accommodate your new date. If you need to cancel, please let me know as soon as possible. Cancellations made within a certain timeframe may be subject to a cancellation fee, depending on our agreement.
12. Do you provide a marriage certificate?
It’s the couple’s responsibility to obtain the marriage license from their local county clerk's office. As the officiant, I will sign your legal marriage license after the ceremony (both for the American and Iranian officiating).
13. Are you able to recommend other wedding service providers to us?
Yes, I can recommend highly qualified wedding photographer, DJ, food caterer, pastry chef, and wedding planners that I know and trust.
